Research of aquatic Coleoptera fauna of the inner Western Anatolia

Abstract (EN)

9422 specimens belonging to the order Coleoptera were collected by area studies between April-September in 2007-2009 in provinces of Afyon, Denizli, Kütahya and Uşak locate in Inner Western Anatolia of Turkey.As a result of identification of these specimens, 145 species group taxa (139 species and 6 subspecies) of 45 genera of 7 families belong to the order Coleoptera were determined. Some of these determined species, one genus and 11 species were new records from Turkey. These are: Chasmogenus and Haliplus laminatus (Schaller, 1783), Agabus striolatus (Gyllenhal, 1808), Ilybius ater (De Geer, 1774), Rhantus grapii (Gyllenhal, 1808), Graphoderus austriacus (Sturm, 1834), Hydaticus seminiger (DeGeer, 1774), Hydroporus angustatus Sturm, 1835, Hydrochus elongatus (Schaller, 1783), Chasmogenus livornicus (Kuwert, 1890), Enochrus halophilus (Bedel, 1878), Enochrus politus (Küster, 1849). Also four species are cited first with exact localities for the country. Two families, 20 genera and 90 species were recorded from the research area for the first time.The female of Hydrochara major İncekara, Mart, Polat & Karaca, 2009 has been recorded for the first time.
