Product selection for interior wall coating

Production, consumption and usability of building products are increasing parallel with technological developments. Preferring process is getting more complex considering with these developments, changes in user requirements, decreasing in preferring periods, little ability to reach sufficient product information and the situation of being produced the similar or different products by the same producers. The main purpose in product choosing process is to choose the right product in short time and with little cost. In this study, it is aimed to help choosing suitable interior wall coatings in a true way and shorter time by giving necessary qualifications to user and designer. In the study, firstly the following steps in choosing product are explained with a definete method and the method is used for interior wall coatings. Choosing product in interior wall coatings, firstly interior wall and interior wall coating is defined and coatings are explained according to the relationship between wall and coatings. The environmental factors which affect interior wall coatings are found according to place and the surface of the wall. The needs are found according to environmental factors. The needs introduce the functions of interior wall coating and functions introduce the qualifications of it. After finding qualifications, choices are created and the information about the choices are planned. During planning the information of the choices, the products which are used for interior wall coating; stone, wood, metal, ceramic, plastic, plaster, glass, paper and paints are examined according to qualifications for interior wall coating. So it is become possible to reach the information which can help user and designer to choose product. Decision and evaluation, which are parts of product selection, isn?t done for interior wall coating.
