Abstract (EN)
This thesis analyzes the environmental and operational efficiency features of the Airbus A321 aircraft model and examines how it contributes to the sustainability goals of the aviation sector. The A321 stands out in the narrow-body and medium-range aircraft category with its high passenger capacity, fuel efficiency and environmentally friendly technologies. Within the scope of the study, the structural design, engine technologies, aerodynamic properties and material use of the A321 are discussed in detail. Multiple linear regression analysis method was preferred in order to analyze the complex structure of the factors affecting fuel consumption. This method allows the development of effective design and operating strategies by statistically modeling the relationships between fuel consumption and the aircraft's performance and operational parameters. Regression analysis also evaluates the interactions of the parameters with each other and provides applicable results to optimize fuel efficiency. Innovative solutions for reducing fuel consumption were examined, especially with the technological advantages provided by the Pratt & Whitney PW1100G and CFM LEAP-1A engines. In addition, aerodynamic improvements and the use of lightweight composite materials are evaluated in terms of reducing carbon emissions and reducing operational costs. In the thesis, the environmental impacts of A321 are analyzed in the context of carbon emissions, noise pollution, chemical emissions and water vapor effects. As a result, suggestions such as biofuel use, hydrogen fuel systems and innovative engine technologies are presented to achieve sustainability goals in the aviation sector. This study sheds light on innovative approaches in the sector by revealing the potential of modern aircraft models such as A321 to achieve environmental sustainability goals in the aviation sector.
