Abstract (EN)

Energy storage has gained importance in recent years due to the increasing energy costs. Storing heat energy is a very difficult subject. From this point of view, phase change materials have been suggested as a solution method for heat storage in recent years. Passive heat transfer improvement methods can be used to improve the performance of phase change materials. One of these methods is the flexible blades placed in the FDM examined in this study. In this thesis, the effects of flexible blades placed in a closed system filled with phase change material on energy storage, melting, heat and flow parameters were numerically investigated using numerical fluid mechanics and heat transfer techniques with a simulation program in a computer environment. When the literature was examined for the planned study, there were no studies investigating the effects of flexible bodies on melting and solidification. In this respect, it is believed that the study will fill an important gap in the literature. The results reveal that flexible fins placed in a closed system filled with phase change material can provide some advantages in terms of heat energy storage and control of the melting rate without requiring additional energy.
