Özet (EN)

The turbulence intensity of the existence medium must be increased to improve the combustion, to increase the heat transfer or to make air fuel mixture more homogenized. As it is known, theoretically for providing better heat transfer and to mix the fluid better, turbulator which activate the fluid must be used. By means of additional turbulence, fluids mix better, the flow way extends and, better and efficient combustion will be provided. Mixing of flow medium namely increasing flow intensity can be provided by methods called active and passive engines. For the active method; additional energy is given to combustion medium. Against to this; the method which is improving combustion without additional energy is called passive method. Generally turbulators are classified in improving combustion method as passive one due to no additional energy. The main purpose of this study is improving the combustion in the cylinder by placing the different shape turbulator for gaining rotation effect of sucking air on each cylinder entrance. During the experiments, the increment of the engine performance and emissions was controlled by continuous measurements. KeyWords: Turbulator, Air Motion, İnternal Combustion Engines
