Abstract (EN)
It is very important to improve engine performance parameters and reduce fuel consumption and unwanted exhaust emissions in internal combustion engines. The reduction of unwanted exhaust gases that harm both the environment and human health generally depends on the formation of a good combustion in the engine. In this thesis, it was tried to increase the combustion efficiency and reduce the unwanted exhaust gases by applying a magnetic field to the fuel line of a four-stroke, single-cylinder, gasoline engine. Neodymium magnets were placed on the fuel line at three different distances to create a magnetic field. The magnets are allowed to create an 1850 Gauss magnetic field in the fuel hose. Magnetic field experiments were carried out separately at engine speeds of 2000, 2500 and 300 rpm. In the experiments performed, it was determined that the amount of unwanted gases HC, CO and CO2 decreased by 22.06%, 21.2% and 25.9%, respectively, and the air-fuel mixture increased by 33.07% at 3000 rpm at 1850 Gauss magnetic field strength.
