Abstract (EN)

A great number of content is shared on social media, and underlying purposes of sharings also vary. It's considered that the purpose of sharing some content is revenge and punishment. In the first section of the study, the concepts of disclosure as well as revenge and punishment were examined, and social norms and exposure sanction were emphasized. When the practice of disclosure via social media is examined, it's observed that disclosure occurs in many forms. The second section addresses this topic. The act of disclosure performed on social media for revenge and punishment is examined under three titles as "online shaming", "revenge porn" and "cyber harassment". Especially, as observed in the "revenge porn" samples, assessing the content disclosed on social media differently from the violations of privacy is impossible in many cases. Therefore, the third section of thesis addresses the legal and procedural regulations for the protection of privacy. In this respect, the social networks "Facebook, Twitter and Instagram" were included in the research, and sample cases were selected among those displayed on the news websites. In this qualitative study, the screening model was used. The data were categorized by using the descriptive analysis method. A total of 30 sample cases were examined and 15 different disclosure contents were found in these sample cases. These contents involved samples of categories "online shaming", "revenge porn", and "cyber harassment".
