Abstract (EN)
This study was conducted to determine the most suitable sowing time for the seed product of two different kinoa (Chenopodium quinoa Willd.) varieties grown in Igdir irrigable conditions. Experiment was established in randomized blocks with three replications according to the Split Parsel trial design at the Research Center of Iğdır University in 2017. In the experiment, sowing dates were set as the main plot and, the varieties (Mint Vanilla and Titicaca) were placed in the sub-plot. Sowings were done with interval ten each days. The first sowings (E1) was performed on the 15th of March, on the 25th of March for the second sowings (E2), on the 5th of April for third sowings (E3) and on the 15th of April for fourth sowings (E4). The effects of sowing times (except for crude protein ratio in seed and stem) and varieties (except for the number of plants and biological yield) on the parameters examined were statistically significant. The results showed that there was a significant decrease in seed yields in both varieties as the sowing date was delayed. It was also seen that Titicaca variety gave a more stable response to environmental conditions than Mint Vanilla. Consequently, considering the parameters studied, it was revealed that Titicaca is the most suitable variety for this region. For seed production, the most suitable sowing date was determined as March 25 (E2).
