Abstract (EN)

This study was carried out in order to determine the species belonging to Curculionidae (Coleoptera) family feeding on some weeds Iğdır province in 2016 between March and November. In the content of field research, adult, egg, larvae and pupa stages of weevil species living on weeds were investigated in one weeks gaps. In addition to, immature stages of weevil species were cultured with their host plants in the laboratory. The herbariums of the host plants were prepared for identification. As a result of this study, 11 species belonging to 4 genera were identified. These species are Larinus latus (Herbst, 1783), Larinus onopordi (Fabricius, 1787), L. inaequalicollis Capiomont, 1874, L. turbinatus Gyllenhal, 1835, L. iaceae (Fabricius, 1775), L. curtus Hochhuth, 1851, L. minutus Gyllenhal, 1835, L. syriacus Gyllenhal, 1835, Lixus cardui Olivier, 1807, Rhinocyllus conicus (Froelich, 1792) and Thamnurgus pegani Eggers, 1933. Information about localities, hosts, distributions in the world and Turkey with a short biology of species were presented. In addition, photograps on general habitus of adult stage of the species and biological stages associeted with plant parts they feed on were added. It was determined that these species were fed on a total of 11 species of plants. It was concluded that these species can have potantial as biological control agents.
