Determination of hawthorn species identification and plant properties growing in Igdir province

Abstract (EN)
This research is conducted in 2015 and 2016 for the purpose of determining the genotypes and germplazm of the hardtown in the region of Igdir province. The hawthorn in the region is investigated phenologically and pomologically and 57 hawthorn genotypes has been examined. 26 hawthorn genotypes that has been investigated belong to Crataegus petrodavisii, 18 C. ambigua and 13 C. meyeri species. The genotypes under investigation are determined to have pink balloon at 8-19 April, first white at 11-23 April, first bloom at 15-27 April, full bloom at 19 April- 1 May and last bloom at 3-15 May. The genotypes that investigated in 2015 has fruit weigh between 0.69 and 2.55 g, fruit width between 10.63 and 16.80 mm, fruit height between 11.27 and 15.61 mm, fruit volume between 0.85 and 2.5 ml and seed weigh between 0.21 and 0.48 g. In the year 2016, fruit weigh, width, height, volume and seed weigh ranged 1,01-2,31 g, 11,05-18,44 mm, 12,18-16,39 mm, 0,85-2,39 ml and 0,23-0,50 g, respectively. Titrable acidity, soluble solid content (SSC) and pH of hawthorn genotypes was found between % 0,5-1,22, % 8,61-13,10 and 4,15-6,26, respectively. It has been concluded that 76ALÇ12, 76ALÇ45, 76ALÇ genotypes belongs to C. meyeri and 76ALÇ1, 76ALÇ42, 76ALÇ54 to C. ambigua all with a fruit weigh of over 2 g and 76ALÇ52 to C. petrodavisii with a fruit weigh of 1.89 g is promising genotypes for selection and future studies.
