Abstract (EN)

The focus is on revealed comparative advantages (RCA) analyses described in this study and assessments of how trade agreements and export financing have had a positive or negative impact on the analysis has been carried out. The revealed comparative advantages (RCA) analyses are discussed as the effects of free trade agreements (FTA) and comparisons with selected EU and border countries. Balassa index was investigated for 99 product groups examined based on trademap dataset, product groups which has RCA value greater than one has been analysed, and the most superior RCA values were evaluated for comparing with before and after FTA. Analysis result show that trade agreements have a significant impact on the RCA, for both Turkey and the selected border countries with EU countries that are members of the customs union have resulted in an increase in their RCA. The findings of the study showed significant changes in the RCA between Turkey and the countries with trade agreements, resulting in an increase in comparative advantages, and therefore trade agreements on the economic well-being of the countries.
