Abstract (EN)
In the study, the theme of death in 'Efrasiyab'ın Hikâyeleri (Stories of Afrasiab)' by İhsan Oktay Anar, one of the postmodernist writers of the Turkish Literature, and the theme of loneliness in "Yere Düşen Dualar (Prayers Falling onto Floor)" by Sema Kaygusuz were discussed within the postmodernist allegory understanding. In both novels, abstract concepts appear as concrete people and this is approached as a clear type of metaphor; the meaning hidden behind clarity is shown to us through imagination. In novels, things that are familiar emerge in an unfamiliar way. The Journey of the Hero Grandpa Cezzar with Death and the loneliness of Leylan in crowd in another novel are mentioned in the novels. Allegory has been formed by handling the facts of death and loneliness in an intertextual scope, separately from the traditional modernist novel. In this study, İhsan Oktay Anar and Sema Kaygusuz's works, which arose from the combination of postmodernism and allegory, were conveyed through a formation under the title of postmodern allegory. Keywords: İhsan Oktay Anar, Stories of Afrasiab, Sema Kaygusuz, Prayers Falling onto Floor, Postmodernism, Postmodern Allegory.
