Abstract (EN)

Fairy tales, one of the oldest types of oral folk literature products, are one of the most important anonymous products because they contain many characteristics such as material and spiritual cultural values, traditions and customs, belief systems and philosophy of the nation they belong to. This thesis is based on İhsan Ozanoğlu's "Kastamonu Halkiyat ve Harsiyat Dil-Edebiyat: Hikâyeler, Masallar, Fıkralar, Konuşmalar I-II-III-IV. Cilt", typed from Kastamonu province and its districts, from different compilation environments. It consists of examining the fairy tale texts in his work "Volume". The sections of the thesis are as follows: "1. Introduction", "2. Classification and Type Classification of Fairy Tales", "3. Motifs of Fairy Tales" 4. Forms of Fairy Tales", "5. Digressions of Fairy Tales", "6. Heroes of Fairy Tales", "7. Places of Fairy Tales", "8. Time of Fairy Tales", "9. Messages of Fairy Tales", "10. Cultural Elements in Fairy Tales", "11. Conclusion", "References" and "Appendices". The types identified in the tales are according to Aarne-Thompson-Uther's "The Types of International Folktales" catalogue; The motifs were determined according to the "Motif-Index of Folk-Literature" prepared by Stith Thompson, and it was seen that there were also motifs belonging to Turkish tales that were not in the catalogue. By determining the formal and digressions of the tales, the characteristics of the compiled tales in terms of formulaic expressions were tried to be seen. The heroes of fairy tales are humans, surreal beings and animals; The spaces were determined as wide and narrow open/closed spaces and their times were also examined. The messages of fairy tales are classified as ethical, psychological, sociological, economic and other messages. The cultural elements identified are transition periods, folk medicine, hospitality and hospitality, threshing and threshing tools, kitchen, mill and going to the mill, handicrafts, clothing, transportation and trade, mastery-journeyman-apprenticeship, measurement-weighing units and expressions. Were discussed under the headings of cultural elements. Against the tradition of telling tales, which is weakening day by day, Ozanoğlu recorded his fairy tale compilations, which are estimated to have been made in the 1940s or before, by typewriter and manuscript. The valuable fairy tale texts recorded by him have been tried to be discussed in every aspect in this study.
