The intellect in terms of existence and knowledge on Ikhwan al-Safa

The ontological and epistemological essence of the intellect has been the subject of some meaning transformations throughout the history of thought. 10th century the Ikhwan al-Safa, also known as the encyclopedist philosophy group, say in their Resail that the intellect signifies two meanings. The first of these meanins is the ontological expression of the intellect and the other is the epistemological expression. Ontological intellect is a competent and perfect entity at the top of cosmology, coming after God in the hierarchy of existence, created as a result of God's command and coming into existence with overflow of its effulgence. It gives existence as it exists. The cosmic, ontic intellect, which the Ikhwan al-Safa calls the universal intellect, is in a very important position in terms of its intermediate position in the God-realm relationship, the effort to explain the theories of creation and emanation together, as it is the subject of multiplicity in the hierarchical order of existence. In addition, it s another remarkable issue that it includes expression that are approached to the theory of adjectives in the formation of the intellect as a result of the coexistence of religion-philosophy and the effort to encompass all sciences. On the other hand, the intellect, which is expressed as epistemological reason, is another remarkable issue that they approaches the Notion of reason in kalam and considered the mind as a gariza within the claim of encompassing the philosophical approaches of the period.
