In the third part, the transfer of citizenship education in the national press using native country knowledge textbooks of Tarık Emin Rona and Tezer Taşkıran was examined. In the present study, the qualitative research method was used. The content analysis of native country knowledge textbooks and the discourse analysis of news, columns and speeches related to citizenship education in the national press were performed. Yeni Sabah, Tasvir-i Efkâr, Vatan, Ulus, Vakit, Akşam, Cumhuriyet, Haber Akşam Postası, İkdam-Gece Postası, Son Posta, Son Telgraf, Tan, Tanin, Yeni Sabah and En Son Dakika newspapers published between 1939 and 1945 years were examined. Amcabey, Bozkurt, Büyük Doğu, Görüşler, İnanç, Öğretmen Sesi, Türk Çocuğu, Türk Kadını, Ülkü, Yurt ve Dünya, Yavru Türk and Yeni Adam journals were also examined. In conclusion, the document analysis was performed by examining 15 national newspapers and 12 national journals. In the present study, the important findings of native country knowledge textbooks and contributions of the national press to the citizenship education have been obtained. It was seen that the national press tried to educate the citizen like a school foundation during the war. The members of the press explained in detail the citizen what kind of sacrifices a person required to do himself/herself, society and state and why a person required to submit duties. Eventually, it was concluded that the national press took Turkish nationalism as a basic reference in educating citizen in this research. Another important result is that citizen associated rights and freedoms with duties.
