Abstract (EN)
In the Ottoman Empire, the exiles, which were initially made for the purpose of resettlement, appear as a form of punishment. Exile sentence is the removal of a person for a certain time or lifetime from the place where the person commits a crime. In the Ottoman criminal law, the exile is included in the penal offense and penalties. After the proclamation of the Second Constitutional monarchy, the members of the Committee of Union and Progress expelled many people who opposed them. After the assassination of Mahmut Şevket Pasha, many people whose names were involved were banished to Sinop. Some of the political exiles exiled to Sinop were sent to Çorum District (Sanjak in Turkish). The exiles which were strictly followed by the Ottoman government were tried to be kept under control in their negative places. Many people from the dominant state subjects lived within the borders of the Ottoman Empire. After the Ottoman Empire entered the First World War, it had many problems with foreign nationals living within its borders. These people, who are seen as hazards, were exiled to various places of Anatolia for various reasons. In this context, Corum District constitutes one of the important exile points to which the culverts are sent. People who were exiled here have made various requests and requests from the Ottoman Administration. The Exiles generally tried to get rid of their lives by asking forgiveness. Keywords: Ottoman Empire, exile, Corum, amnesty, punishment
