Values education in the first children poetry books after Constitutionalism II

The aim of this research is to study the books called "Çocuk Şiirleri" by Gövsa, "Çocuklarımıza Neşideler" by Elöve and "Çocukların Şiir Defteri" by Tanık, which are some of the first poetry books written for children, in terms of the values that they cover in them. To determine which values are included in the books within the context of the research, how this contributes to teach Turkish and whether these books can be used to convey values in Turkish books form the subgoals of the research. Qualitative research methods have been used in this research and literature survey about the issue has been done. In the analysis of the data, document review and content analysis method have been used. After a list of values has been formed out of root values which are in MEB 2018 Turkish lesson teaching program and values which are in MEB teaching program, the books have been viewed according to this values list. This research has provided some results about the values which are in the books within the context of the research and about how often these values are seen. The books which are studied according to the list of the values have expressions about a lot of values and some of the values are seen to be in all the books mentioned above. Trueness, honesty, love, diligence, friendship/ fellowship are some values which are seen most often in all of the books.
