Abstract (EN)

One of the most important sources of studies on the History of the Ottoman State is the Mühimme Registers series kept by the Divan-ı Hümâyûn. In this context, the number 204 Mühimme Register constitutes the basic material of this thesis as one of the critical archive sources of the reign of Sultan Selim III, which is accepted as the beginning of the renewal period in the Ottoman History literature. In this study, firstly, all the number 204 Mühimme Register was transcribed and translated into today's Latine letters, and then all the edicts were abbreviated and summarized in a way that anyone can understand. After all of these, the edicts in the register were analyzed by classifying according to their subjects. Thanks to this study, significant events and issues such as the Paspanoğlu Rebellion, the Highlander Bandit, the timar arrangement, which took place in the Ottoman State and occupied the agenda, during the 8-month period (February-October 1798) covered by the register could be determined. Keywords: Selim III, Mühimme, Ottoman State, Paspanoğlu, Highlander Bandit, Timar
