Abstract (EN)

Ottoman Empire, as a result of the raid that occurred in Cesme in the last quarter of the century in he almost completely lost his navy. After the event the reform studies were started in the Ottoman shipyards and III. Selim's 1789 when he became the head of the state in the year of there was a huge crowd. During this intensity, the Ottoman war the construction of newly emerging frigate type ships among the ships is also intense was being carried out. The frigate construction activities during Selim III period, mainly in the last days of the Admiralty of Algerian Gazi Hasan Pasha It was carried out by Küçük Hüseyin Pasha, who was later appointed to replace him. It continued during the time of the Capitan Pasha. In this study, during the reign of Sultan Selim III, the ship in question it is aimed to examine the construction activities of the type. The study consists of an introduction and two parts. In the introduction, after giving general information about the Ottoman navy until the Selim period, the types of ships used in the navy are briefly mentioned. In the first chapter, the first appearance of frigates, the shipyards where they were built, shipbuilding workers, shipbuilding costs, construction time and naming the ships are examined. In the second part, detailed information about the construction materials of the ship type, which forms the basis of the study, is tried to be revealed.
