Abstract (EN)
In this research it has been analysed of III. Selim's ağır and yürük semais in terms of rhythm-aruz prosody. In the lyrics composed by III. Selim, intelligibility was at the forefront according to the language of the period. The purpose of this research is to analyze the verbal works which are ağır and yürük semai composed by III. Selim in terms of rhythm-aruz prosody, explain the maqam and lyrics. Along with the explanations of the lyrics, the prosody charts of the lyrics are included in the content of this study. Various written sources related to the research subject were scanned and the method of literature review was applied as a data collecting. As a result of this scan, all of III. Selim's verbal compositions that have survived to the present day with notation are shown in charts. In the research, the theoretical information and lyrics explanations of the maqams were given that III. Selim who is accepted as a master composer as well as his sultanate in the history of Turkish Music. In addition there is an evaluation of six compositions in the form of ağır semai and yürük semai in terms of rhythm-aruz prosody relationship.
