Abstract (EN)
In this thesis, the problem of transverse magnetic plane wave scattering by a conducting cylinder located near an interface between two dielectric half-spaces is investigated. The surface equivalence principle is employed to form a set of coupled integral equations. The unknown perturbed equivalent electric currents over the infinite interface is expressed in terms of the difference in current with cylinder present case and the exact physical optics (PO) solution with cylinder removed. This approach simplifies the solution of the problem. Scattering of a transverse magnetic plane wave by a cavity-backed infinite ground plane is also investigated with a similar approach. The basis of the solution of the scattering problem is the difference between the induced perturbation currents in the presence and the absence of the cavity converges to zero in a sufficiently far from the cavity location along the interface. Coupled electric field integral equations (EFIE) are solved by the Method of Moments (MoM) and the physical optics principle.
