Examination of teachers' and administrators' views aboutthe vocational work program during the two-half year andthree midterm application

The aim of this study is to examine teachers' and administrators' views about the two half-year and three midterm applications put into effect by the Ministry of National Education in the 2019-2020 academic year. A basic qualitative research design was used and data were collected with open-ended questionnaires. Data were analyzed with content analysis. Participants were teachers and administrators working in Tepebasi and Odunpazari districts of Eskisehir in the 2019-2020 academic year. Results indicate that teachers and administrators were generally satisfied with the application and found the midterm application useful for the students. The activities within the scope of vocational work program at all levels were formed and implemented together with the teachers according to the program sent by the ministry to the schools and to the own conditions of each school. Schools planning similar activities stated that they were satisfied with the process after the end of the midterm and that most of their expectations were met. Although there were teachers at all school levels who were not satisfied with the application and criticized the midterm application and the vocational work program, the opinions were mostly positive. Within the scope of the vocational work program, the teachers were especially satisfied with the social and cultural activities. Although difficulties like leaving their younger children, weather conditions, fees for social activities, transportation, etc., during the midterm implementation were stated, the majority of the teachers reported they did not encounter any difficulties during the process.
