Özet (EN)

This research gives information about how graphic artists used graphic design as a form of communication in propaganda during World War II. The posters which are used during and after the war are commented comparatively and the visual and verbal rhetoric is reviewed in the light of design principles. The concept of propaganda, which has great importance on mass communication, is analyzed in detail, giving attention to propaganda history, tools, and methods. The research also talks about the power of art through the impact that graphic artists, who played an active role in the production of the posters, had on the masses. As a result of this research, it has been observed that the posters used in World War II influenced the progression and the outcome of the war, and the propaganda posters show some similarities in their topics. The topics are categorized into themes in the order of national symbols and flags, austerity, children, Hitler, destruction, and reconstruction. Finally, Anti-Semitism has been observed and this topic is covered separately.
