Abstract (EN)

There are many fields of social work. Social work with families of veterans and martyrs is one of these fields. As it is known, Azerbaijan started the 2nd Karabakh War to free its lands from the Armenians, as a result of which it regained its lands that had been under occupation for about 30 years. Of course, no war is without losses, Azerbaijan lost more than 10,000 veterans and more than 3,000 martyrs in the 44-day war. The enemy moved the war to other areas and targeted civilians. Thus, in addition to the soldiers of Azerbaijan, there were also veterans and martyrs among civilians. News of veterans and martyrs comes from the Karabakh region almost every month. Considering all this and the processes experienced in the world, social work with veterans is on the agenda as one of the most important fields of social work today. Although the state provides financial assistance to the veterans, it is reported that their psychological and social problems still persist. A year after the end of the war, more than 100 veterans committed suicide or attempted suicide. It is planned to reach 20 war veterans using the snowball sampling method in this research, which will be designed by following the qualitative research methodology. Psycho-social problems of veterans will be determined in the research using semi-structured interview forms. The research data will be presented in the form of findings using the method of content analysis. In the content of the thesis, first of all, it will be tried to examine the adequacy of the assistance of state and civil society organizations that provide assistance to veterans. One of the factors affecting the social life of veterans is their disability. It will be tried to determine what steps are taken by the state to eliminate the disadvantageous situations caused by this disability and how these steps are evaluated by the veterans. Later, the steps to be taken for the elimination of these problems and the solution of the psycho-social problems of the veterans will be determined, and some suggestions will be made from the point of view of social work.
