Abstract (EN)

Oxymoron is a literary art expressed by the combination of at least two contradictory or paradoxial words in order to create an astonishing effect on the reader / listener. Oxymoron is a current issue and the most of studies on oxymorone originate from the West. In Turkish literature, this subject has not been studied much. Although the term oxymoron has been handled by some researchers, these studies have not been sufficient. Mixing oxymoron with various literary arts made it difficult to understand. In this context, different names have been denominated to the term oxymoron. The aim of this study is to determine the art of oxymoron in the works of İkinci Yeni (1950-1964) poets. In this study it is examined some oxymoron samples in the works which are written İkinci Yeni (The Second New) poets' most active period and after this period in terms of structural and semantic aspects. Literary works and poets subject to study: Ece Ayhan (Bütün Yort Savul'lar!/ Toplu Şiirler), Sezai Karakoç (Gün Doğmadan), Turgut Uyar (Büyük Saat/Bütün Şiirleri), Cemal Süreya (Sevda Sözleri), Edip Cansever (Sonrası Kalır II/ Bütün Şiirleri), İlhan Berk (Toplu Şiirler).
