Özet (EN)

The problem of the birth of the Second New poetry, which emerged in the 1950s without a common manifesto, has been tried to be elucidated from various perspectives from its beginnings to the present day. As of the first months of 1956, some poets, writers and critics have emphasized the reactionary or evolutionary approach towards the Garip poetry, some have emphasized the period of the Democratic Party government from a political perspective, and some have developed other theories to investigate the reasons for the birth of the Second New poetry. However, despite these attempts at explanation, each theory of birth remains one-dimensional in the face of the intricate structure of the Second New style. Since these forms of explanation have so far been dealt with without gathering them under a single study, a holistic evaluation of the phenomenon of genesis could not be made. Based on this determination, the main subject of this study is to critically examine and categorize the theories of birth put forward for the Second New poetry between 1956 and 1970 in a holistic manner. In this direction, six main theories of birth will be discussed, encompassing existing forms of explanation: Evolution from the Garip poetry, imitation of Western poetry, new mimesis, political power, sociocultural transformation and interartistic theories. Throughout the thesis, the historical relations between the discourses of birth traced through a thematic method and the similarities and differences arising from the method of comparative analysis will be analyzed and discussed under certain conceptual headings.
