Abstract (EN)

This study covers the investigation of chemical properties and some pollution parameters of groundwater from selected research areas in İkizce (Haymana- Ankara). The pH, temperature and electrical conductivity parameters of the groundwater samples collected from wells were calculated on site, and their cation and anion analyses have been carried out in the laboratory. By using graphical methods, the results are interpreted in comparison to standards and regulations. After the water chemistry data from the research area are evaluated by drawing, Piper, Schoeller, Wilcox and US Salinity Laboratory diagrams, it is determined that the dominant hydrochemical structure on some groundwaters are not changed by seasonal effects , while some others are changed. The hydrogeologic formations in the area are identified by hydrogeologic investigations. By comparing the geology of the area and the mineral saturation levels of groundwater, the geology of the aquifer, where the water samples come from, is determined. vii Other than the standard parameters, boron and fluoride analysis are also conducted on water samples, and the results are compared again with drinking and irrigation waters. Although the results of this study are not sufficient enough to determine whether the water samples can be used as drinking water or not; the results are also evaluated against drinking water standards to give a general idea.
