The role of youth in policies to combate climate change

Climate changes have been observed in the history of the world due to the deteriorati on of natural balance. Degradation as a result of natural events has affected the living populations living in the world. The situation of humaninduced natural balance deterioration arose during the 19th century. This deterioration caused by humankind has increased with the excessive release of greenhouse gases, especially in the 19th century. The deterioration rooted in the excessive emission of greenhouse gases continued increasingly. The effects of the deterioration have been still seen so far these da ys as well. Future generations will be also witnessing the effects of greenhouse gases and their deterioration that are released into the atmosphere today. In the 20th century, the main reason for climate change has been considered as a human factor and st ates have signed agreements and protocols in order to minimize the effects of climate change to prevent these conversions as the main objective, and they have assigned some responsibilities to the states those who has been assumed a role to fulfill them. P olitical powers under state administration first have to fulfill their obligations within the scope of adaptation to climate change. Every step to be taken must be a necessity for the political powers that will come after them. Climate change should be inc luded in the state policy as one of the main policies of the states, not arbitrary. In this context, states should encourage the use of renewable energies, not fossil fuels, in their areas of responsibility, and accelerate the people's transition to renewa ble energy with the tax policies they will implement. It should be indicated that leaving the steps to be taken on climate change to the background is essentially the worst thing to do to future generations. In the conception of the climate change, the sta te should engage not only one but all its whole bodies. Citizens should be made aware of climate change. People who are aware of climate change, acting with the consciousness they have, will deliver this awareness to future generations. In this study, toge ther with young people, who are one of the most important actors in climate dialogue, local youth policies have been produced to reduce the effects of climate change and to ensure adaptation, and contributed to the development of dialogue mechanisms for th e young people. There are three sections in the study: workshop, focus meetings and questionnaire. As a result, three documents were prepared: Local Climate Policy Document for Young People, Final Declaration on Climate Policy Workshop with Young People, a nd Dialogue Mechanisms for Climate Change for Young People.
