Evaluation of agricultural support policies in Türkiye in the context of adaptation to climate change: The case of Erzincan province

Climate change has negative impacts on agricultural production, threatening food safety. Rising temperatures, changing rainfall regimes, droughts and floods adversely affect agricultural productivity and sustainability. This leads to imbalances in food production worldwide, affecting food supply and prices. Agricultural incentives and transformation play a critical role in ensuring food safety. Incentives for the agricultural sector stand out as an important strategy for producers to adapt to climate change. These incentives can be offered to support environmentally friendly agricultural practices, technologies that increase water efficiency, climate-resilient crop varieties and sustainable production methods. This study focuses on agricultural transformation and agricultural incentive policies within the framework of climate change and food safety. Within the scope of the study, 17 farmers engaged in agricultural production in Erzincan province were interviewed and the data were analyzed by qualitative analysis method. As a result of the findings, the impacts of climate change, food security and agricultural incentives on farmers, problems encountered in the field and policy recommendations were put forward.
