Abstract (EN)

Sea transportation has an important function in economy. The share of sea transportation is over 80% in today's world where boundaries have disappeared and globalization is inevitable. Climate change due to global warming affects many sectors including sea transportation. Many scientific studies show that sea surface temperature (DSYS) averages are affected by climate change. Iskenderun bay is located at Turkey's east and surrounded by west of Adana and Hatay province. The Bay has an important function in the trade of the countries adjacent to the Middle East and the Mediterranean since the early ages. In the thesis study, the types and quantities of the cargoes that are supplied / are discharged and outgoing / loaded in the port of Iskenderun, are categorized and divided into 3 groups as agriculture, energy and food raw materials. In addition, it has been investigated that whether the average DSYS changes measured between these years have an effect such as decrease and increase on in agricultural, food and energy load amounts on a regular basis. In order to understand this effect, a non-parametric correlation analysis was performed with Statistical Program for Social Sciences (SPSS) package program. As a result of the study, it was determined that the DSYS changes between 1999 and 2012 did not directly affect the amount of food, agricultural and energy loads that were discharged / discharged / outgoing / loaded to the port operators in Iskenderun Bay, and average DSYS changes did not have any effect on the decrease or increase in the types and amounts of loads.
