Climate change effects on Turkish energy and economical security: Post-Kyoto (Protocol) term

This study constitutes the specifics of climate change effects on human life on a daily basis in addition to the mass production and consumption tendencies together with govermental and private sector investment tools and investors preferences on the global, regional and local stages. The interaction experienced in this course and reflections over Turkey and her energy and economical security approachs are planned to be handled specifically during post Kyoto term. Climate change has been an ongoing process due to the natural causes for ages and yet, the measurability might create questionable amount of suspicion for some, Intergovermental Panel on Climate Change looks to foreground the common view that climate change and pollution are caused by the very humanbeing reasons with %95 probability. "How should Turkey be embracing an approach in the post-Kyoto era? Can this attitude provide a sustainable and integrated energy and economical development formula for the country in a global stage where the international security is threatened by the fact that the global heating has to be kept under 1,5 °C in any case?" is basically aimed to encompass the pivot motive for this study. Turkey has been a keen demanding actor in terms of energy sector with %119 greenhouse gases emissions increase between 1990 and 2007. United Nations Framework Agreement on Climate Change accepts Turkey as a developed state in 1992, however, by stating her private sitiuation, Turkey choose to become exempted by any obligations which are in force in accordance with Annex-2 of the UNFCC after the withdrawal in 2001. Documentary scanning method has been used in this study; in addition to national libraries, international and national databases as well as online sources have been exploited; scientific articles, films, documentaries have also been analyzed.
