Abstract (EN)

The study aims to investigate how the process that produces climate politics in a multi-actor and interactive environment can be explained by the structuration theory developed by Anthony Giddens. The main reason for focusing on climate policy is to demonstrate that it is insufficient to explain the process of climate policy produced by contradictory and conflicting interests with institutionalist/new institutionalist approaches. However, instead of the structure-action dualism revealed by positivist and hermeneutic approaches, the structuration theory offers the opportunity to holistically combine the relationship between structure with action with a synthesizer attitude. Thus, the methodological tools of theory of structuration were utilized for explaining the determination process of climate politics. Fort this point of view, in this study was tried to prove the possibility of explaining the process of determining climate policy of the structuration theory in the example of Turkey. By applying the methodological tools of structuration theory to explanatoriness the process of determining Turkey's climate policy was contributed to the existing discussions on the explanateriness of to the theory.
