Investigation of individual career planning process and career values of faculty of economics and administrative sciences students: The case of Bandirma Onyedi Eylul University

Globalization, technological developments and the changing structure of working life have affected individuals' perspectives on career. These innovations have created differences in the career values and career planning of individuals. The concept of career in general terms; ıt refers to a process that includes preparation for the profession, career choice and entry to work, continues throughout working life and even includes after retirement. The ability of individuals to achieve success in every part of this process is related to having a suitable and correct preparation period before their career. Here, career values consisting of individuals' beliefs, attitudes, behaviours', interests, abilities, wishes, expectations and needs come to the fore and constitute an important factor in determining their career plans. When the literature is examined, it is seen that there are few studies conducted by considering the career values and individual career planning of undergraduate students together. In this study, career, career planning, values, career values are explained conceptually and career values and individual career planning are examined by analysing the demographic information of individuals who continue their university education. In this context, 439 students studying at Bandirma Onyedi Eylul University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences were reached. The survey data of 432 students who participated in the survey correctly were analysed and evaluated. In line with the analyzes made, it was concluded that the undergraduate students who participated in the survey were interested in career opportunities, were affected by socio-economic conditions of the country and preferred competitive working environments.
