Rapid developments in technology from the late 20th century make technology management a flourishing branch of the management discipline. Nowadays, it is witnessed that businesses will not succeed unless they include technology in their operations. Faster, better quality and low-cost production, which is the aim of all enterprises, can only be realized as a result of the successful implementation of advanced manufacturing technologies in business processes. This study has one aims. The first is to explore the factors that are effective in the successful implementation of advanced manufacturing technologies, and the lower part aim to determine the relationship between implementation success and operational performance. Based on an extensive the literature review, factors affecting the implementation success of the advanced manufacturing technology were divided into three categories: technological (complexity, conformity, cost and expected operational benefits), organizational (top management support and technology absorbing effect) and environmental (customer and competitive effect). Then, the relationship between these factors and implementation success was analyzed. The data was collected from 100 manufacturing companies operating in Sakarya, Kocaeli and Istanbul and analyzed using a regression method. The results show that complexity, compatibility, top management support, and absorptive capacity positively affect implementation success while cost, expected operational benefits and customer and competitive effects were not found to have an impact on implementation success. Also, a positive significant relationship was found between implementation success and operational performance.
