AI-based transformations in communication processes: An area analysis on problems and opportunities

This thesis examines the impacts of AI-based transformations on communication processes through a comprehensive and critical perspective. The increasing integration of artificial intelligence into communication technologies has fundamentally altered individuals' modes of digital interaction, bringing complex discussions to the forefront regarding privacy, security, bias, discrimination, personalized communication, the decline in communication quality, and technology addiction. The research was structured within the framework of the survey model, and the existing literature was systematically reviewed. The data were analyzed using the descriptive analysis method. The study holistically addresses the social, cultural, and ethical implications of AI-based communication practices. Findings reveal that AI contributes to communication processes through speed, efficiency, and personalization; however, it simultaneously creates new risk areas concerning data security, privacy, ethical violations, and social justice. This research aims to offer an original contribution to the field of communication studies by examining the effects of AI technologies not only from a technical perspective but also through ethical, social, and cultural dimensions.
