Abstract (EN)

Ilkhanids who were emerged in the western part of Iran, Azerbaijan and Eastern Anatolia region following the massive migration completed in 1260 as a natural consequence of the ideal of Mongols to rule over the whole world, which started in the first quarter of the XIII. century, were one of state which was a significant influence not only in Anatolia but also in a large part of the region, now called the Middle East in that century. In the first part of the study titled "Eastern Anatolian Cities during the Ilkhanids Period", after the information about Çingiz Han and the Mongols was given, the Mongol-Harezmşah struggle, the Çormahan Noyan and Baycu Noyan's submission to Anatolia at the command of Ögedey Kağan and the domination of Ilkhans in the Anatolian region will be discussed. In the second part, we tried to give a lot of information about the cities that the Ilkhanate State had captured in the Eastern Anatolia region. The Ilkhanid State, which was founded by Hülegü in 1256, being the capital of Tabriz, dominated some parts of Iran, Caucasus, Azerbaijan and Anatolia. The Ilkhans who dominated eastern Anatolia were also influential in the change of the demographic structure of the region as well as the Ahlat, Aladağ, Iğdır, Erzincan, Erzurum, Muş, Van, Bitlis, Hakkari and Kars which are one of the important cities of this geography. As a matter of fact, the population of Turkey has increased rapidly as a result of the Turkish clan who came from Asia and settled here in the mentioned period. This will also allow the Turks to relocate their beliefs, traditions and customs before the Islamic religion was accepted. Eastern Anatolia Region has been among the most important borders of Islam and Turkish due to its possibilities of commercial, economic, cultural and artistic possibilities. The Ilkhans, who have dominated this region since the XIII. century, left many works here. We see architectural works such as medresses, kumbets, bridges and grave stones belonging to Ilhanlılar in cities such as Ahlat, Erzurum, Erzincan, Kars and Muş. It is understood that İlhanlılar's activities towards the region are a great contribution to the fact that cities have these characteristics. Although most of them can not be reached to daylight due to various reasons, it is possible to find Ilhanlı remains. In this context, the political, social and cultural structure of the cities is mentioned in the third section. Key Words: Ilkhanids, cities, Eastern Anatolian.
