Abstract (EN)

In this work, art critic and curator Nicolas Bourriaud?s concept `relational aesthetics? isreexamined with Elizabeth Diller and Ricardo Scofidio?s transgressive space/art producingpractices. Bourriaud, while interpreting contemporary art works of 1990?s, has introduced theconcept for aesthetic theory consisting in judging art works on the basis of the inter-humanrelations which they represent, produce or prompt. By focusing on Diller+Scofidio?s works, especially Eyebeam and Blur buildings, `relational art? as a set of artistic practices which takeas their theoretical and practical point of departure the whole of human relations and theirsocial context, rather than an independent and private space, is explored in `relational space?as well. Both buildings are interpreted with their encouragements for constructing variousrelations between art, artist, audience and space and for blurring boundaries between givenroles. Keywords: Relational aesthetics, space, art, Nicolas Bourriaud, Diller+Scofidio
