Abstract (EN)

This researchwas done as a cross sectional and descriptivestudy toevaluatethe marriage adaptationfor women who made their first marriage undereighteenyearsoldand married with the samepartner and the factors which affect their marriage adaptations. The universe of the study composed of twothousand women applied to Bitlis city public hospital women birth service. The sample consisted of 246 women. For data collection, marriage adaptation scale and the questionnaire was used. In the firstpart, the characteristics of women and their husband, the questionsabout women's pregnancy and birth included in the second part, the questionsabout the factorswhich can affect women's marriage adaptation. Data was collected between 1 July and 31 October 2014. The data had been evaluated by using SPSS for windows 18. As a statistical evaluation, average, standart deviation, minimum and maximumvalues, percentagenumbers, t-test, oneway Anova test were used.Statistically significant difference were found between marriage adaptationof women and the duration of marriage, the types of marriage, the situation of physical violence, pregnancy number. It has been found that women's marriage adaptation are low among women who made their first marriage under eighteen years old and married with the same partner. According to the results of the study, it is suggested to provide programmes to prevent adolescent marriages and develope to increase marriage adaptations for women who made their first marriage under eighteen years old.
