Abstract (EN)

The aim of the present study is to determine the relationship between organizational identification and organizational cynicism of teachers at primary and secondary schools and also to determine whether there are statistically significant differences between the teachers' organizational identification and organizational cynicism levels and whether the teachers' opinions through organizational identification are predictors of their opinions though organizational cynicism. The universe of the study, conducted by correlation survey model, is composed of teachers serving totally at 57 schools, 28 of which are primary and 29 of which are secondary schools in the center of Bolu in 2013-2014 educational year. There are totally 940 teachers 404 of which are classroom and 536 of which are branch teachers. Measurement tools were sent to all the teachers in the universe and replied 636 forms were evaluated. Data were collected from the teachers through a scale in the study. The scale is composed of three parts in the study. First part is a short message about the measurement tools and Personal Information Form prepared for the purpose of collecting information about the participants. The others are organizational identification scale (Loğa, 2003) for the purpose of determining the teachers' perceptions and organizational cynicism scale (Güzeller ve Kalağan, 2008) for the purpose of determining their organizational cynicism perceptions. In data analysis, Confirmatory and Explanatory Factor Analysis, Independent Samples t-Test and One-WayAnova were used. In addition, the Pearson Moments Correlation Co-efficient was calculated and Regression Analysis was performed. According to the obtained results in the study, it is seen that the teachers' opinions related with their organizational identification levels are at a high level, within the range of "I agree". It was concluded that the teachers' opinions related with organizational cynicism levels are at a low level, within the range of "I don't agree".The teachers' opinions related with their organizational identification and organizational cynicism were investigated according to demographic information and it was concluded that there was no significant difference between the teachers' organizational identification and organizational cynicism levels according to gender, education level and marital status. At the levels of teachers' organizational identification according to professional seniority, it was determined that there was significant difference between the teachers of 11-15 years of seniority and 21 years and above of seniority, none the less there wasn't a significant difference between organizational cynicism and professional seniority. According to teachers' age variable between their organizational identification levels, it was concluded that the teachers within the age range of 31-35 were identified more. Furthermore, the organizational identification levels of classroom teachers are at a higher level compared to those of branch teachers. The organizational cynicism levels of teachers serving at primary and secondary schools, unlike organizational identification levels, are not significantly different according to branch and school type. It was seen that there was a negative relationship between the teachers' organizational identification and cynicism scores and it was determined that teachers' organizational identification levels predict their organizational cynicism levels at the significance level of 10,4 %.
