132 SUMMARY At this thesis which is prepared as related to the role and importance of art educator at expressing of child himself drawing courses at first semester primary education (7-9 age), source research has been carried out and children has done two dimensional drawing studies with pastel painting technique. Population of this research involves students of Ankara Ülker Primary Education School, randomly selected 30 students from both schools. An initial study related with the subject has been performed in order to determinationof attendance level of students. At this studies, children of both sample has drawn pictures by applying the same time, technic and educational conditions to determine the pictures grading criteria. At our research, 3/C and 3/A classes, whose attendance levels are the same, have been chosen as control group test group respectively. Control and test groups has draw picture has the same theme and technique during the same period, but different educational conditions have been applied to both groups intentionally. Application has been started by giving some information about theme and technique to the students of control group. No intervention and orientation has been done to the student during study. However, active education conditions have been applied according to principles of art to the test group A face to face relation has been set with students during research and their opinions about what will they do has been oriented. Review, estetique and history of art, that are three of the four disciplines, has been out of scope at l-our research, educational condition at the basis of application has been given. Specialists of their field have performed grading of pictures and "t" test has been applied at the basis of means of given grades. When the pictures that drown by students of control and test groups were33 compared, some differences have been determined imanigation, composition and colorful explanations. Thesis study is proved that art educator has the important role on drawing education, development of drawing ability of children and explanation themselves by drawing. According to this result, following hypothesis has been accepted: "art educator has a role and importance on explanation of children themselves at drawing courses of first semester primary education (7-9 age).
