Abstract (EN)

In this study, it was investigated whether the copying method in visual arts class in primary school 6th grade has an effect on the artistic studies of students and conclusions were made according to the findings obtained. Experimental method was used in the study as the scientific research method. In the method section of the study, experiment-control groups were made by random assignment from subject pools consisting of 6th grade students. The classes were made according to the lesson plan prepared for the control group and a study about ?Our Games? was performed. In the experiment group, a copy of İbrahim Balaban's work "Salıncakta Çocuklar" (Children on the Swing) which had been selected according to the theme was made. Then the same lesson plan as applied to the control group was applied and a study with the title "Our Games" was made. At the end of the experiment, studies carried out by experiment and control group about ?Our Games? were evaluated by experts based on the evaluation criteria and the findings constituted the basis of the study. The population and the sample group of the study was made up of 50 students in total which are in 6th grade in Abay Elementary School in Batıkent district in the county of Yenimahalle in Ankara. In the study, data sources were studies by students and painting examination method as data collection technique. Paintings made by the students were evaluated by 3 experts. In data analysis, score sets were established by taking the average scores given by experts for the painting of each student based on each criterion. These scores were tabulated together with calculations of percentages and frequencies. Mann-Whitney U were used in data analysis. Subgoals were also investigated based on the statistical results obtained in Mann-Whitney U.Findings and results obtained in the study are as follows:The effect of copying method on students' studies were tried to be investigated by determining significant differences based on the findings from the evaluation criteria. It was concluded that there was no significant difference between the experiment group in which the copying method was applied and the control group in which the copying method was not applied based on the statistical analysis results of the criteria "Originality in Composition, Using the Imagination", ?Richness, Originality in Form, Including Details?, ?The Use of Colors (Color Mixtures, Color Variety, the Use of Original Colors), "Space", "Motion-Rhythm", "Suitability of the Study to the Theme". A significant difference was obtained for the criteria ?Completion of the Study? in favor of experiment group based on the results of statistical analysis between experiment group and control group. According to the results of the statistical analysis examined in terms of the effect of copying method to the development of creativity in students, no significant difference was observed between the experiment and control groups. From this fact, it was concluded that the copying method has no effect on the creativity of the student.
