Examining of the visual items in primary school 4th grades Religion and Morals textbook in terms of objectives and content

The sample of research, it covers The Primary School 4th Class Religion and Morals Textbook, published by Tutku Publishing. In this study, it is used "document analysis method" which is one of the qualitative research methods. In the data analysis; firstly, it is determined objectives and distribution of visual materials by units in the textbook. It is determined the ratio of the visual materials to the number of pages in the Textbook. It is created the evaluation criteria for examination of the visual materials. Afterwards, the distribution of each visual material is tabulated by units and it is made descriptive analysis of a randomly selected visual material. According to the findings of the research, it is understood that; there's a numerical imbalance in distribution of the visual material used in the textbook, the explanations in some visuals are insufficient, in some parts there're sentences that may be incomplete or cause confusion, generally attention is paid harmony of visual- text, objectives, visual integrity, the tables and schemes are prepared in accordance with the subjects and objectives in the textbook.
