Abstract (EN)
Ill SUMMARY This research has been made to investigate the effects of computer assisted Instruction for 5th grade primary school students acquisition in mathematics fractions unit. The study group in constituted by two primary schools in two different towns of Eskişehir, one of which is Gümüşkonak primary school in Günyüzü and the other Kayakent primary school in Günyüzü. The study group is constituted by means of seventy 5th grade students whom were chosen through random selection method. The equality of chosen groups is provided by taking into account the points and the socio-economic levels of the students. The data, used in the research, were gathered by means of "pre and post test" which was developed by the researcher, while developing test, first the indicator chart was developed and then for each action two guestions were prepared. The pre- treatment test which was prepared beforehand was applied to the students of Günyüzü primary school and item analysis was made either. As a conclusion the alpha (a) coefficient of the test appeared as '.92'. The unsuitable items were eliminated and required items were eradicated. The prepared test was applied to the students before and after the experiment. The data gathered from the test were analysed by means of SPSS 10.0 packet program t-test and the meaningfulness was tested at,.05 level. The results obtained from the research are briefly as follows: 1. There is no meaningful difference was found between the pre-test point averages of 5 grade students who are applied computer assisted instruction in teaching of mathematics fractions unit and the students who are taught by means of traditional education. xc YtescoGiww vmsuiIV 2. There is a meaningful difference was found in favor of experimental group between the post-test point averages of 5th grade students who are applied computer assisted instruction in teaching of mathematics fractions unit and the students who are taught by means of traditional method. 3. There is a meanigful difference was found in favor of experimental group between the differency points (acquisition points) averages of 5th grade students who are applied computer assisted instruction in teaching of mathematics fractions unit and the students who are taught by means of traditional method. 4. In teaching fractions unit in mathematics in 5 grade primary school lesson, there is no meaningful difference was found between differency points (acquisition points) averages of male and female students who use computer assisted instruction. 5. In teaching fractions unit in mathematics in 5 grade primary school lesson, there is no meaningful difference was found between differency points (acquisition points) averages of male and female students who use traditional teaching method.
