6.th class of primary mathematics teaching, teacher opinions abaut evaluating the field of geometry learning taking place in the curriculum ( sample of kütahya )

In this investigation, teachers ideas were taken about gains, activities, content, period of teaching-learning and evaluation sizes which belong to sixth class mathematics lesson teaching programme that is applied in 2006-2007 education instruction year. Moreover, that is tested if gains and activities that belong to the lower instruction areas which are contained by geometry instruction area made in the first area are available to the class levels. In these lower instruction areas, some of the lower instruction areas that are to be adden or supstructed are tried to be found according to teachers? ideas and experience. While applying this programme the most suitable ways that evaluate activities are tried to be investigated. The aim of this programme is, to take ideas of teachers who participate in sixth class mathematics lesson about the evaluation of geometry instruction area which takes place in the mathematics lesson instruction programme that is put in practice in 2006-2007 education-instruction year at sixth class and to make suggestions to improve the programme. The universe of this study is formed by Kütahya central government schools. The datas were gathered from teachers who are found in the schools that are inside the illustration by poll that is developed by the investigator. After the election of sample, polls were apllied to 50 teachers. For the analyse of datas Excel and SPSS (Statical Package For Social Science) programmes were used and frequency, percentage seperations and means of teachers ideas that belong to each topic, when necessary t test, anova test and kruskal wallis test were used. vi According to the results of the study the new programme that is in practice is positive in general. But there have been some difficulties. After examining gains and related activities that belong to lower instruction areas of geometry found in the programme and processing of them in the lesson we have to pay attention firstly to the presence of classes not to be so crowded. The activities that are lower or higher the attitude of the class should be rearranged. The activities and gainings also have to be reexamined for students to develop their creative ideas and relate with daily life. İngredients of activities must be suitable for the level of all students and activities must be rearranged. according to the lesson period. Lower instruction areas should be given as a whole instead of giving piece by piece. By this way unnecessary repeats will disappear.
