Research of the effectuality of implementations towards the education of values in social studies lessons of the primary education 6th grade

In this research, the effectuality of implementations based on the activities in education of values is aimed to be regarded from the point of view of the activities related to values of sensibility and responsibility that are implemented to the primary education 6th grade students in social studies lessons.The research has been carried out via the hypothesis founded by qualitative research patterns. For that purpose, the research was maintained in social sciences lessons in a state school with 21 primary education 6th grade students. During research process, the researcher maintained the research by attending the research area through the teacher role.In the research, by founded hypothesis? nature, data acquisition and data analysis were tried to be done as one within the other. The data of the research were obtained by both the interview forms acquired from the interviews made before and after the activity implementations, and the worksheets consisting of the activities based on the education of values.Expressions and themes were approached by subjecting the data obtained during data acquisition process to qualitative content analysis.At the end of the research, the argument has been attained that the in-class activities related to values of sensibility and responsibility raise the awareness of those values. Besides, the findings acquired during the research process has pointed out that current implementations of the education of values are insufficient, and course books and the structure of the program is not relevant enough for the education of values.KeyWords: Valueseducation, Social Studies
