Abstract (EN)
The aim of this work is to determine the 7th and 8th class students?opinionsabout the components of democracyThis investigation was applied by using the ` singular technique? from thesurvey type of quantitative research technique at Gazi Paşa elemantary schoolwhich is one of the central elemantary schools in Bolu.In this investigation anoriginal attitude survey was developed in order to determine the student opinionsabout the components of democracy.Before the criterion was prepared, thecomponents of democracy had been fixed by doing research from the relevantliterature.The components relat to democracy which were determined had beendetermined by making conversation with the relevant experts and various data wascollected. The data that had been collected was recorded in a report by analysis.According to this knowledge , the prepared criterion sketch was presented to thefield experts regarding scope, validity, understandibility and feasibility subjects andnew regulations were done by taking their criticisms into considerationThe attitude criterion was applied by the investigator.The proportion ofreturn of the given criterion is a hundred percent.In analysing the datum of theoriginal criterion which had been improved by the investigator, all analyses weredone such as; frequency dipersion, percentage, average, standard deviationcolculation and `t? tests. These calculations, were analysed by using the SPSS 10,0pocket programme.The results of the elemantary 7th and 8th class students? opinions relating tothe components of democracy can be summed up like this:1. It had been understood that elemantary 7th and 8th class students? mostlyagreed with the expressions relating to the freedom concept in the components ofdemocracy2. The opinion that the elemantary 7th and 8th class students mostly agreedwith the tolerance concept in the attitude criterion, ``There must be a reciprocaltolerance atmosphere for individuals?? living in peace together? was determined.3.It was determined that elemantary 7th and 8th class students? leastinterested concept was `democracy education?.4.It was seen that the item that has the highest percentage of the attitudecriterion that elemantary 7th and 8th class students least held is `to be only a humanis enough to have human rights?5.It was fixed that the component that elemantary 7th and 8th class studentsmostly were undecided about is `ctizenship?6. `how will an individual will be able to become a citizen is possible withthe given democracy education? was the opinion that elemantary 7th and 8th classstudents mostly had been undecided about in the components of democracy.7.It had been seen that there was a significant difference between elemantary7th and 8th class male and female students relating to `equality, freedom andtolerance?concepts from the component of democracy.8.It had been seen that there was a significant difference between elemantary7th and 8th class students relating to ``equality and freedom??from the componentsof democracy.Key words: Citizenship,Democracy, Democracy Education.
