Abstract (EN)
In this research, teaching through Cooperative Learning Methodology and Traditional Teaching Methodology and their effects on the 7th class elementary education students? academic performance in Science Courses, understanding the topic ?Force and Motion ?and their attitudes were searched. Cooperative Learning Method?s Jigsaw Technique was used in this research. This research was studied in Düzce Province, Central district,100. Yıl Primary school with 56 students in 7th class in 1st semester of 2008?2009 education-teaching year. For this study as the experiment group 7-C class including 26 students and as a control group 7-B class including 30 students were chosen. In experiment group topic presentations were made according to cooperative learning methodology. traditional teaching methodology was used for the control group. In this research, background information test, scientific success test, attitudes scale of science and technology were carried out in both of these groups for the purpose of checking pre knowledge of the students. In order to determine whether there has been a meaningful difference their level of equivalence, 2007?2008 education teaching year of the end of the term science and technology notes(scores) and background information test were used. According to the background information test and science and technology notes(scores), it was obtained there hadn?t been a meaningful difference between the students? success and learning levels in experiment group and control group. At end of the research scientific success test and science and technology attitudes scale were carried out both in experiment group and in control group as the last test. With the intention to evaluating the effect of the stability of cooperative learning methodology, 11 weeks later scientific success test was again carried out to both of the groups as permanence test and the data obtained were evaluated. In evaluating the questions of the pre test and last test one sample t test was used and Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS 11.5 for Windows) was made use of.According to the analysis results, it was found that there had been no meaningful differences between experiment and control groups. As a result of evaluating the data obtained from scientific success test, a meaningful difference was determined in favor of the experiment group between the student?s success in experiment group used cooperative learning methodology and student?s success in control group used traditional teaching methods. In comparison to the results of the stability test carried out both in experiment group and in control group ,there was a meaningful difference in favor of the experiment group.According to the results of the research carried out Jigsaw Opinion Scale (JOS), it was found that Jigsaw tecniquie influenced the academic success more than the traditional teaching method.
