The effect of the teaching methots based on constructive learning approach on the successes in the subject of acids-bases and their conceptional variations, and the attitudes against the science lessons of eighth class students primary school

IV ABSTRACT THE EFFECT OF THE TEACHING METHOTS BASED ON CONSTRUCTIVE LEARNING APPROACH ON THE SUCCESSES IN THE SUBJECT OF ACIDS-BASES AND THEIR CONCEPTIONAL VARIATIONS, AND THE ATTITUDES AGAINST THE SCIENCE LESSONS OF EIGHTH CLASS STUDENTS PRIMARY SCHOOL (M. Thesis) Selda ÇOLAK GAZİ UNIVERSITY INSTITUTE OF EDUCATIONAL SCIENCES September 2005 To improve science instruction school reform efforts have become very common throughout the world including Turkey like order part of the World, turkey has been deeply influenced by the constructivist approach. The tecnhics of alternative appraising and lessons activities are improvised for considering the constructivist instruction's methods and student's meaningful learning. The aim of this study is to determine experimentally the effect of the teaching methods based on contructive learning approach on the algoritmic and conceptional successes about acides-bases and the attitude and perception of the science lessons of eighth class students of primary school. Firstly; The instruction's method of 5E and Rol Play which are ground of constructivist instruction, used in these activities. Secondly; These activities which are prepared appropriately for the constructivistinstructions, are used for the student's meaningful learning and notianal changes. And Thirdly; concept map, constructivist grid, puzzle, which are prepared appropriately for appraising activities, that are include in the constructivist instruction, are used. İn this study; too groups selected from Batman-Beşeri Hürriyet İlköğretim Okulu 8.class students. One group is named control group,another is experimental group. According to the plan that is not balanced control group which are not seperated atrandom.that is wanted to control the pre-ınformatıon, logical think ability, perception and attitude to science are gived to each group as pre-test. Algorithmic achievement test and concept test are appled as pre-test and last test for establishing the effect of the method to the student's success of concept and algoritmik about acides-bases. A month later from the appling the last tests.concept test are applied to both group as permonent test. Statistical analysts showed that there was meaningful difference between control and experimental group abaout conceptual success. It is established that the consructivist instruction's method better than traditional instruction method about permanent concept.
