8th level students of the primary school's critical ideas about social science lesson by affective purposes (sample of Manisa-Ahmetli)

In this research, by conculting the students it is aimed to learn how the social studies, taught at primary schools at the level of 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th, presented and the level of affective purposes gained by students. The research is a kind of descriptive research. The results are gained by asking 45 questions in a questionnaire. The research's population is the students who at the 8th level in Manisa-Ahmetli region and research's sample is the students who go to 4 different schools in Ahmetli. Frequency, percentage, weighted avarage and one way ANOVA score are used in the analyses of the dates from students who took place in this research. According to the results of the research, it is observed that students appropriate modern and student centered curriculum it is understood that affective purposes in the programmes of social studies are gained by students. It is seen both from interviews with teachers and the students' answers in questionnaire, teachers still use traditional methods. Contemporary and student centered curriculum activitives increasing the activitives of students should be used. Examining curriculums and interviewing with teachers it is seen that affective purposes should be sufficient in dailly life necessities. In social studies programme cognitive activitives are given important priority, but affective and psychomotor activitives have not been considered sufficiently. In programme it should be given importances to these activitives. In addition, teachers should use strategies of learning efficiently for permanent learning at lessons.
