Primary 8 Republic of Turkey and Atatürk's Revolution History lesson class of problems encountered in the handling of Kemalism unit according to the opinions of the teachers and students to evaluate : Aydin sample

This study aims to determine the teachers' and students' thought about the problems that they face to while they are working up the unit "Kemalism" in "The Principles and Revoltions of Atatürk" lesson at 8th grade of primary school. This study includes 690 students and 36 social studies teachers in 20 schools in the centre of Aydın. It was carried out during 2012–2013/spring term. A questionnaire was applied to the students and teachers during the unit of "Kemalism" in "the Principles and Revolutions of Atatürk" lesson to point out the problems about it. After gaining the datum, the results were evaluated to contribute the solutions of the problems which the students and teachers encounter while working up the unit of "Kemalism" in "the Principles and Revolutions of Atatürk" lesson which has the characterictic of being continuation of social studies lesson. The suggestions extracted from the datum which were the results of the questionnare and litareture has given at the and of the study. In assesment of the questions, the SPSS Statistical Programme was used. As a result of the questionnare applications and literature studies, suggestions regarding the solutions of the problems that were faced to while working up the unit were tired to be indicated.
